THE PICTURE ON THE WALL
Closer to the eyes, but faint in the memory...
a picture it is; nailed to the wall it found solace...
men, women, and children listening to his tales with their eyes...
his voiceless voice infesting the innocent air...
his tales boldly stamped on his still eyes...;
he was a man whose life was measured with grief...
he wandered with a bucket filled with his tears, lest he thirsts...
nature spelled his paths with hate...
he was the man in sordid garment...
he didn't choose life; life chose him...
when nature blessed his days...
his smiles stretched beyond his laughter...
his joy; sorrowfully joyful...
it was a moment nature has waited to strike...
it didn't take long before her fist smashed into his abode...
a large shadow hiding behind the long arm of time picked him...
death found him...
and beneath earth's sepulcher he rested...
in a world unknown...
non mourned him; for they had been killed by his death...
and he lives on...
yes, THE MAN ON THAT PICTURE LIVES on...
(in loving memory of SIMEON OROTO.)
