ABIKU

She sat atop the Boabab
Obscured by its gnarled limbs
Scanning the ageless grassland
She felt an uncanny chill
A vivid memory burst upon her
Of her journeys to primordial beginings
An ereie reality of many lives
Unravelling the mysteries of her origin.

In the begining was a stone
Deathless and old
Then the stone begot a road
A famished road
And the road begot her children
Who never grow old
Unencubered by the mannacles of time
They thrived a vengeful horde.

She was of this wrathful children
Whose fury is fiery and cold
That plague the womb of women
With ceaseless rebirth and woe
Now tired of its monotonous rudiment
She yearned to serenly grow old
So her pact, she broke to fragments
Thus her companions became her foes.

They plague her every hour
With wraiths and visions of doom
Her joy they`ve turned sour
With songs in lapis lazuli tunes
Makin her crave that ancient river
With shores of coloured dunes
Perhaps they need not bother
For without beauty, oblivion sweetly looms.
